Tonight I’m all dressed up with genuinely nowhere to go — just me, some spring rolls on the stove, and Strictly about to start. Sometimes the best evenings are the ones you don’t leave the house for.

A quick thank you first: after a recent post where I mentioned my stomach — wrinkly arms, saggy knees, all of it — so many of you wrote in with kindness. One comment in particular stuck with me: someone referred to their C-section scar as an “escape hatch,” which felt exactly right. Both of my children arrived by emergency Caesarean, so mine were escape hatches too — including for my son, who came into the world at just two pounds and needed a bigger opening than usual, because apparently very small, very ill babies are slippery little things.

On a lighter note: I’ve decided to start doing longer blogs alongside the usual quick videos. I’d been holding back, worried it might dilute the YouTube channel — but then I thought, dilute it from what? The brand is just me. So, longer posts are coming, alongside the shorter ones you’re used to.

Tonight’s outfit: a top from Monsoon, 2006 vintage, which I couldn’t wear for a good fifteen years and am delighted to be back in — paired with a silky skirt from Zara, this season. Now, back to Strictly, before I miss all the good bits fast-forwarding in real time isn’t an option for.
